Main Display Output Guide

The Main Display is the primary public display view in NowNext.live (/r/[id]). It presents a clear multi-column overview of all spaces/courts in your venue, showing what is happening NOW and what is coming NEXT.

Layout Architecture

  • Header Bar: Displays your custom event title, active local time, and venue status.
  • Space Cards Grid:
    • Each space (e.g. Court 1, Court 2, Court 3) gets a high-contrast column card.
    • NOW Section: Highlighted green/indigo card showing active match, player names, and start time.
    • NEXT Section: Subdued card displaying the upcoming fixture so players know where to queue next.

Setting Up Main Display on Venue Screens

1. Mounting & Resolution

  • Screen Size: 43" to 65" 1080p or 4K Smart TVs recommended.
  • Placement: Mount in central high-traffic areas such as venue entrances, spectator bleachers, or refreshment areas.

2. Launching the Display

  • Open the TV's browser (e.g. Chrome, Silk, Samsung Internet).
  • Enter your event's Main Display URL (https://nownext.live/r/[your_event_id]).
  • Enable full-screen mode (F11 or browser full-screen button).

Key Features & Customization

  • Real-Time Sync: Updates instantly when the organizer advances a session in the controller. No refreshing needed.
  • Responsive Columns:
    • 1 to 4 spaces: Displays spacious large-font cards.
    • 5+ spaces: Automatically arranges into an easy-to-read grid.
  • Offline Banner: If venue Wi-Fi disconnects, a discrete indicator alerts staff while keeping existing schedule cards visible.
